The Soft Yoga Training

A Soft Yoga Education for a Fast-Paced World

In a world that’s constantly speeding up, we offer a radical alternative: a yoga teacher training that prioritizes softness, rest, and the deep healing power of slowing down.

This is not a training in dynamic vinyasa.
This is a balm for your soul.

Rooted in yin yoga, restorative practices, somatics, and informed by trauma-aware pedagogy, this 200-hour training invites you into a different pace — one that honors the nervous system, the cycles of nature, and the body’s quiet wisdom.

This training is held in English. There is a French manual available. The team speak French, discussions, exercises, homework and exams can be done in either language.

A 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Yin, Restorative & Somatic Wisdom.
Rooted in yin yoga, restorative practices, somatics, and informed by trauma-aware pedagogy, this 200-hour training invites you into a different pace — one that honors the nervous system, the cycles of nature, and the body’s quiet wisdom.

You’ll learn to teach in a way that helps people come home to themselves — not by pushing harder, but by softening. Not by correcting alignment, but by cultivating awareness. Not through rigidity, but through presence.

Each trainee will be followed by a mentor throughout the training and beyond.

You will have the opportunity to observe “real” classes at the studio, the perfect opportunity to watch different bodies and how they move in different ways. This is also a chance to observe how a teacher sequences, speaks, adjusts and leads their class from beginning to end.

Asana Lab videos will be sent each month (on top of live sessions during training weekends) to dive deeper in to groups of poses and further your understanding of alignment, contraindications and modifications.

This session has several new components:

  • Live zoom calls in small groups with lead trainer Louise, for all Q&As
  • A week-long immersion in our retreat centre in Normandy (see more info below).
  • Introduction to Prenatal Yoga

Our teaching style is passionate, curiosity-focused, accessible and non-judgemental. We draw on our years of experience to enable you to teach the people in front of you, adapting to their needs. We hope to light the flame of inspiration, education and motivation in you, to make your own choices as teachers and students and to encourage your own students to walk their own path of practice.

A few of the topics covered

  • Anatomy for Yin Yoga
Explore the fundamentals of Yin and Yang tissues, fascia, and joint mobility. Learn how anatomy informs the safe, sustainable practice of long-held postures and how meridian lines interact with the physical and energetic body.

  • Asana Lab: Yin & Restorative Yoga Postures
Break down essential Yin & Restorative poses through hands-on practice and observation. Learn how to use props, adjust variations for different body types, and guide students into deep stillness with confidence.

  • Teaching Skills & The Art of Holding Space
Develop your voice as a teacher and learn how to create a calm, grounded space where students feel safe to explore and release. You’ll practice cueing, timing, and intuitive presence.

  • The Art of Sequencing
Understand how to build meaningful Yoga sequences rooted in intention, meridian theory, and energetic balance. Learn to create classes that flow with the seasons, emotions, or specific therapeutic needs.

  • Anatomy of the Nervous System
Understand the structure and function of the autonomic nervous system—sympathetic, parasympathetic, and vagus nerve pathways—to better support regulation and resilience through yoga.
  • Meditation & Pranayama
Learn simple, effective breathing techniques and guided meditations to support nervous system regulation and presence in soft practice—for yourself and your students.

  • Introduction to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)
Gain an understanding of the Five Elements, organ systems, and meridians. Learn how to bring this energetic lens into your teaching to add depth and intention to your classes.

  • The Theory of Yin & Yang, and Qi
Dive into the foundational Taoist concepts that inform Yin Yoga. Understand how balance, opposites, and vital energy (Qi) shape the way we move, rest, and live

  • Savasana & Healing Touch
Discover how to close a practice with presence and care. You’ll learn gentle assist techniques and grounding hands-on adjustments to deepen relaxation in Savasana.

  • Somatic Principles in Practice
Explore foundational somatic concepts such as interoception, neuroplasticity, and embodied awareness. Learn how to weave these principles into your teaching to foster deep self-inquiry, presence, and regulation.
  • Yoga Philosophy
A study of the Yoga Sutras – more specifically the Yamas & Niyamas. An introduction to Tao philosophy also.
  • Functional Yoga Anatomy & Variation
Learn how skeletal differences and joint architecture influence posture expression. Understand how to adapt asana for individual bodies, moving beyond “ideal” alignment to teach with inclusivity, safety, and confidence.
  • Starting in 2024, our trainings include a week-long immersion in Normandy, at our peaceful retreat centre: The Retreat Space.

This new format invites you to slow down and go deeper—into your yoga journey, your body, your breath, and into meaningful connection with others.
You’ll have time to learn, teach, rest, explore, create, and simply be.

You’ll stay in a calm, beautiful house nestled in a quiet village just over 3 hours from Paris. Nourishing meals are prepared with love—seasonal, plant-based, and shared together around the table.
The garden, the firepit, the stars, the silence… everything is here to help you reconnect—with yourself, with others, with Nature.

We believe this setting gives space for transformation: a chance to grow your confidence, refine your voice, restore your energy, and feel part of something real and rooted.

A regular practice of Yoga and desire to learn more about Yoga, but also about yourself.
