Splits Play (ENG)
Working on your splits isn’t just for the super flexible, dancers, or circus performers.
Sliding into a full split can be a goal, sure, but the real value lies in gaining more range of motion in your hips and legs. This flexibility supports your yoga practice, daily movement, and can even help balance out activities like running, where tightness is common.
The aim of this workshop isn’t to force you into the splits in one day. Instead, we’ll create a pathway towards deeper leg flexibility in a way that supports your body. And if getting your hips a little closer to the floor is something you’re working toward, we’ll explore that too.
Splits Play is about moving past frustration, stiffness, and confusion, and approaching flexibility in a fun, functional, and pressure-free way.
We’ll blend flow, drills, partner work, and soothing practices to explore postures like Hanumanasana (front splits), Samakonasana (side splits), and Upavistha Konasana (wide-legged forward fold). Along the way, you’ll discover how different types of stretching can help you feel both stronger and more flexible, step by step.
Expect:
- A warm-up flow to prepare your muscles, joints, and nervous system
- Guided exploration with props and partner options
- Targeted drills from yoga and beyond to unlock flexibility safely
- Soothing practices to help your body feel safe while expanding range of motion
You’ll learn how to:
- Approach splits with less tension and more confidence
- Build the strength and flexibility that true mobility requires
- Create a personal pathway towards deeper leg flexibility
This isn’t about forcing your way into the full splits. It’s about exploring how your body can open safely, joyfully, and at its own pace.
Perfect for you if:
- You’ve ever felt “too tight” for splits
- You want to understand how different stretches actually work
- You’re curious about exploring leg mobility with support and guidance
- You’re ready to feel more freedom in your hips, legs, and practice
