THE SPACE ACADEMY

Trainings to deepen your practice, explore yoga and learn how to share it with others.

The Space Academy offers yoga teacher trainings designed to go beyond simply learning a method. We take the time to explore, practice, question and understand, so that each person can develop their own way of teaching.

Why choose our trainings?

PRACTICE TO UNDERSTAND

We don’t simply teach you a method. We practice, experiment and ask questions, so you can understand what you’re teaching — and why.

FIND YOUR OWN WAY OF TEACHING
____

We give you strong foundations, practical tools and support, while leaving space for your personality, your experience and your own way of teaching.

LEARNING
TOGETHER

Our trainings are designed as spaces to practice, share and exchange. We learn from our teachers, but also from one another.

The Space Academy is a school registered with Yoga Alliance International.

Our trainings are designed to give you strong foundations, while leaving plenty of space for practice, experience and developing your own way of teaching.

Each training brings together teachers chosen for their experience and expertise. We share different approaches and perspectives, creating a rich and engaging learning experience grounded in practice.

What guides our trainings

Beyond techniques and knowledge, three ideas are at the heart of how we teach: intention, creativity and authenticity. They shape the way we practice, learn and teach.

Intention

We believe it’s important to understand why we teach what we teach. Setting an intention gives direction to the practice and helps you create classes that feel purposeful, rather than simply moving from one posture to the next.

Creativity

There’s no single way to teach yoga. We encourage exploration, curiosity and creativity, so you can learn to build, adapt and evolve your classes without feeling confined to one method.

Authenticity

We’re not here to train teachers who all teach in the same way. We support you in finding your own way of teaching, drawing on what you learn, what you experience and who you are.

You don’t need a perfect practice.

____

You don’t need to be particularly flexible or strong, or be able to do certain postures, to train as a yoga teacher. There’s no such thing as a “perfect” practice — and that’s not what we’re looking for.

What matters is the desire to learn, and a willingness to dedicate time and energy to your practice, your understanding of yoga and the way you share it with others.

For us, being a good yoga teacher isn’t defined by what your body can do.

It’s someone who understands the body and the different ways it can move, who knows how to observe, adapt and teach with clarity and care. Someone who can be authentic in the way they teach, creative in what they build, and clear about the intention behind their choices.

That’s what we help you develop throughout our trainings: not one way of teaching, but the tools, understanding and confidence to find your own.

Our trainings

Whether you want to become a yoga teacher, deepen your practice or build on the teaching you already share, our trainings offer different ways to keep learning and exploring.

From our 200-hour Vinyasa teacher training to shorter specialist trainings, each course brings together practice, theory, discussion and experience, giving you the time to understand what you’re learning and make it your own.

Learn, practice, teach

Our trainings aren’t about simply accumulating knowledge. We learn through practice, observation, experimentation and exchange. Theory gives us a framework, but it’s through putting it into practice that it really begins to make sense.

01 —PRACTICE
We begin by experiencing it in our own bodies. Through practice, we learn to observe, feel and better understand what we’re teaching.

02 — THEORY
Anatomy, philosophy, history, techniques or teaching principles: the content varies between trainings and provides a foundation for the practical work.

03 — TEACHING METHODOLOGY
We explore how to teach: structuring, explaining, guiding, adapting and making thoughtful choices.

04 — EXPLORE
We observe, try things out and teach. There’s space to explore, ask questions and learn from the things that don’t work straight away, too.

05 — DISCUSSION
Small groups leave space for questions, feedback and discussion. We learn from our teachers, but also from one another.

Resources to support your learning

Depending on the training, you’ll have different resources to support your learning and continue exploring between modules and after the training.

Training manuals
Materials designed to support the content covered during the training.

Additional resources
Readings, references and materials to continue exploring certain topics.

Support between modules
Depending on the training, resources are provided to help you continue practicing and learning between sessions.

Small groups, with space for everyone.

We intentionally keep our training groups small, leaving plenty of space for questions, discussion, practice and individual feedback.

This closeness also creates a real sense of trust. Over the hours we spend together, we get to know one another, share, try things, make mistakes and learn from each other. Connections form naturally, and it’s not unusual for relationships that begin during a training to continue long afterwards — through support, collaborations and friendships. That’s part of The Space Academy experience too.

Practical information

Payment

We don’t want payment options to be a barrier to training with us. Depending on the course, you can pay in instalments, with payments spread across the duration of the training.

Payment options vary depending on the training and are explained on each individual training page. If you have any questions or would like to talk through the options before signing up, just get in touch and we can look at what might work for you.

Cancellation & Payment Policy

We understand that plans can change. Because our trainings involve a significant commitment from both students and our teaching team, the following cancellation and payment conditions apply to all trainings at The Space Academy.

Deposit
All deposits are non-refundable.

If you cancel your place

 • More than 6 months before the training begins: all payments made will be refunded, excluding the deposit.
 • Between 3 and 6 months before the training begins: 50% of the amount paid will be refunded, excluding the deposit.
 • Less than 3 months before the training begins: no refund will be available.
 • Once the training has begun: the full training fee remains payable, even if you decide not to continue or complete the training.

Pay in instalments
If you have chosen to pay for your training in instalments, payments must be made according to the agreed schedule.

If more than two months of payments are outstanding, and payment is not brought up to date when requested, we reserve the right to ask you to leave the training. Leaving the training does not cancel the remaining balance: the full outstanding training fee will become payable immediately.

Assessment and certification
The training must be paid for in full before you can take part in the final assessments or examinations. If there is an outstanding balance when the assessments take place, you will not be able to complete them until the full amount has been paid.

Certification

The Space Academy is registered with Yoga Alliance International. The certifications awarded through our certified trainings are internationally recognised within the yoga community and allow graduates to teach in many countries.

However, requirements for teaching yoga can vary depending on the country and local regulations. It’s therefore important to check the requirements that apply in the country where you plan to teach.

Certification is awarded based on participation in the training and successful completion of the assessment criteria specific to each course. Payment for the training alone does not guarantee that certification will be awarded.

Learning together

Our trainings are built around practice, curiosity and exchange. We take the time to learn, ask questions and experiment, but also to share the experience with the people around us. Because what happens between the teachings matters too.
